Lamborghini Reventón
After what can only be described as a mixed reaction to the odd looking Alar I wasn't sure what to expect when Lamborghini's latest super, supercar was unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show earlier this month.
I should never have doubted Lamborghini. The Reventón looks worth every cent of its €1 million list-price. Not that the price is really an issue, since all 20 to be produced have already been snapped up. Unsurprising when you look at the thing.

The Reventón looks like something out of a sci-fi movie. It's aggressive, angled lines somehow manage to look svelte and sophisticated when viewed as a whole. The rear light clusters sparkle like diamonds (I wouldn't be surprised if they were lined with diamonds), not that you'd get a good look at them unless the Reventón was at a stand-still as the V12 monster under the bonnet will propel the Reventón's carbon-fibre frame from 0-60mph in 3.4 seconds.

Gorgeous stuff. And I even like the colour. If anyone's feeling generous you know what's top of my Christmas list.

Notes
- Nice Nike Football ad from Madonna's better half.
- Top marks for the realigned BBC News website, bringing it more in line with the lovely new, jQuery driven, BBC homepage.
Beautiful full-screen image browsing served up by the snazzy PicLens plug-in. Impressive, though practicality is debatable.- Yahoo shifts to search the
semantic web
. Potentially huge, and very welcome news for usstandards nuts
.
The Coke Zero Game. Latest masterpiece from the infuriatingly talented North Kingdom.
It's sites like the Red Bull Flight Lab that remind you what Flash is for. Brilliant application and an awful lot of fun.- Rejoice! The new Indiana Jones trailer has finally made an appearance. Can't wait.
- Help the Email Standards Project get Google's attention in the hope they will finally improve Gmail's awful rendering of HTML email.
- Awesome panoramic view of the Airbus A380 cockpit interior. This is the super-future.
- Excellent article from accessibility supremo Roger Johansson on how inappropriate, or overuse, of HTML features meant to aid accessibility can actually have the opposite effect.

Oh yes, “aggressive” was the first thing that came to my mind. Quite nice :)

Personally i think it’s a hideous looking thing, and now being owned by Audi i’m not sure they get away with using the random list price generator anymore.
For me it looks (and let’s face it, it is) still a Murceawotsit so charging 4 times the price is ridiculous.

Yeah – they have taken a car that looked superb in a “Stealth Fighter” way, and made it look like a load of “Max Power” readers had some MDF spare from the last Corsa they butchered!!!
Sure, it’s cool, but not as timeless and clean as the car it’s based on. The only good thing about the additions is the way they echo the Lambos of previous generations like the Countach – where each model was added to to make the final incarnation even more aggressive.
The guys at Lambo could learn a lot from Porsche. Keep the core of what you offer the same & build on that. All this “Bling” will detract from the true sportscar DNA – which should always be based on pure functionality….
Christ, I’m boring…

@tom – The Countach look is what I like about it, the skirt in particular. I wouldn’t go as far as saying they’ve let Max Power readers loose on it (there aren’t enough protrusions and it’s missing a comedy spoiler :-) but I see what you mean.
Me, I love it.
